Soledad" XXL hammock: the ultimate XXL hammock

Soft, strong and extremely comfortable, this XXL hammock ticks all the boxes! Made in the Colombian tradition on a loom. It's handcrafted with an extra-fine yarn (a blend of 60% cotton and 40% acrylic). This blend makes the hammock extremely soft to the touch, thanks to the cotton, while effectively resisting the effects of sunlight and repeated washing.

A luxurious XXL hammock for total relaxation

This is the perfect hammock for indoor or outdoor use, and its soothing light blue color blends perfectly with Scandinavian or chic decor. Its 1.80-meter width means you can sit comfortably diagonally, feeling weightless while lying perfectly flat in your XXL hammock.

Sleeping in a hammock: a sensory experience like no other!

Sleeping in a hammock offers a different experience from that of a bed. The first few moments can sometimes be complicated: finding your position, turning around, adjusting. It's a sensation your body will have to get used to. However, after a few days or weeks, the fabric will adapt perfectly to your shape, relieving muscular tension. You'll quickly master the movements to enjoy the soothing, gentle rocking of the hammock as you sleep. To find out more : The benefits of sleeping in a hammock

Adopt the right position for greater comfort

In Colombia, it's common to hear that six hours spent in a hammock can provide as much regeneration as eight hours in bed. We invite you to do the test and share your comments. However, if you're sleeping outdoors in a hammock, beware of ground humidity. You can counter this problem by placing a tarpaulin on the ground or using a waterproof sleeping bag to snuggle up in your hammock. It's no wonder that many indigenous tribes set up their hammocks over fire embers, offering a truly magnificent sensation.

The use of hammocks in the navy

History tells us that it was in the 15th century that the hammock was discovered and brought to Europe by Christopher Columbus. It soon became a very useful item for sailors on board ship (especially English and French sailors). Sailors who previously slept on hard, extremely uncomfortable ship's beds came to appreciate all the benefits of the hammock. The use of hammocks in the European navy lasted for three centuries. Naval hammocks" were made from waterproof canvas, making them unhygienic and cramped.

... and also in prisons

Did you know that the English and Australians used this type of hammock in their prisons in the 19th century? And why? Because hammocks not only offered comfort, they also saved an enormous amount of space. Indeed, they could be easily removed when not in use.

Hammocks in Latin American prisons

In many prisons in Latin America, as well as in Vietnam and Cambodia, hammocks are often used to provide a means of sleeping in overcrowded and unsanitary environments. These hammocks, suspended in cramped cells, offer a practical solution for maximizing space and providing a semblance of comfort for inmates. However, their use also raises health and safety concerns, as they can contribute to already difficult living conditions and the spread of disease.
